Keeping dirty

As priorites change a lot less board sanding is going on, however I can escape the dust. Below prepping the bottom for new painton what will be my home for a while.

After a few weeks of rain, cold, non stop work despiration set in and I had to paddle out on a borrowed board and wetsuit in a rain storm.

Long delay

This has been one of the longet delays between posts in a while I have been busy working on the boat and have no internet on top of endless amounts of work and no time.

The bigger pictures of the new 5'9". Simple clean lines good for those who want something safe and predictable. Trying some different resin marbleing that came out ok. I wouldn't say it has a lot of volume in it compared to a retro fish but it isn't a preformance thin guy either. Should be a great fun summer day board.

Current boards as of today, it changes often. The ones that have been around a while stay because they ride well. From the right:

Hourglass Close up

Since finishing the hourglass board we have had one poor day of swell so hasn't been ridden as much as it should. However here are a couple pics to get a better idea of the board. The top is while glassing, you can see how it is a simple mellow outline and boxy rails with a fairly flat deck to conserve volume.

The bottom is a little different than your average. The black channels are 2" wide x 1.5" deep and 15" long. Also has some small wings to narrow up the tail and a small battail to help it paddle fast. On the really tiny boards it is all a balance of keeping enough volume to be usable and try to keep it fast enough to paddle. When it gets steeper the lack of rail length and the boxy rails can make the board a little sketchy so for this board I went with a single fin so it could hopefully hold tight and be more adjustable.

Shapes

A new 5'10" squash on the table. This pair of boards are made with summer in mind fun with a tad extra volume so you can get on it more. Both should be done in the near future since they got put on hold for a couple other projects.

Fresh waves

Cool little standing wave that was forming in a stream so I snapped some pictures. Bigger than whats been breaking in New England the last few weeks.

Spring Glassing

Starting up the marble on the new fish. The new 5'10" hiding in the upper corner of the room. Nice and light so far.

New 5'9" fish in the works. Pretty classic shape.

Spring is rollin in

New blanks and new shapes for the Spring. Started up a 5'9" fish and 5'10" squash tail this weekend. Up for grabs still if you want one.

Sorry for the dull pictures I got excited and took them before I was done cleaning the last of the dust. New hourglass is done. Single fin with two large channels.

Hourglass

Just put down the glass on the new Hourglass. Can't wait to give it a ride soon. Busy month coming up so stay tuned for a lot more.

Working to play

With any project you have to have your least favorite part, sanding is mine. To counter that I am making a concerted effort to try and enjoy it and make it better who knows someday I may love sanding most. My problem is besides the dust and time is that the whole time I am thinking about how close I am to riding it. Waves are constantly running through my mind and all I want to do is try out the board.
