Last of 2011
Finaly got some swell and warm weather. The bouys read 17' at 11 sec with 35mph wind so that is about 7' faces on the sets for RI. The tide was a little high and it was super hard to find the good peak before you got cleaned up by a set.

Transportation
Friends old garage built in the 1800's. Something about tools and materials and know how that has always intrigued me. Being able to build something that is useful and can give you the freedom to do what ever you want is a skill not everyone has but is invaluable. The ultimate dream has always been to build a epic barn on the ocean that can house a workshop capable of building boats, surfboards, motorcycles and fabricating tools.

Misty Mornin
I like this shot of RI because it really shows the early winter feel. Not all that inviting but at least the flag is blowing offshore!

Passing Fronts
Catching the tail end of a passing front finally put up some offshore winds to clean up a fun swell the other day. I choose to go after the occasional shoulder amid the majority of close outs over moving up the road to a slightly better wave that was swamped with at least 100 angry people trying to battle it out. One good sized set did put its mark on the new fish though wraping the leash around the tail and making a good sized cut.

Welcome to RI
This seems to be typical RI. The ocasional decent swell, offshore wind and people dropping in on you. Pic I took in Matunuck from one of the hurricanes earlier this Fall.

Carib
Picture I took a few years ago on a trip to Saint Kitts. Very fun wave, better rights than this left but I liked the feel of the picture.

Noll Log
Great old Greg Noll board my friend stumbled upon. Stringer work is very impressive. Overall in very good condition only some small dings and discoloration here and there that for now are going to stay until someday it gets restored.

New Ride
The new 5'6" travel board. Few little tweaks of the green and blue 5'5" thumbtail that had been my daily rider for a while. Added an inch to the length and gave it a tiny squash, changed from twin/single to thruster set up and threw in some carbon stringers. Expect to see a lot more of this board in up coming pics.

Irene
Ready to shred all sorts of people showed up to try to surf, dry suit top and 18" fin. |
Nothing like some obsticals for the morning drive. |
Low tide mush. |
After the hurricane headed up to RI to get some wave. Early on its was some very fun left overs with a good offshore breeze and not to crowded. Rapidly fell apart though as the tide drained out, crowds filled in and the wind went side shore.
